Movie and Book Comparison! THE OUTSIDERS

First comparison ever but if I'm going to continue reading books first and later watching movies based on them I figure this is a cool way to bring people together. People who only like movies might decide that reading a book that a movie was based on might not be so bad :)
So I think that this movie did a great interpretation of the book. I was only a little disappointed that Sodapop's girlfriend didn't exist in the movie but they had to cut some stuff.
I loved this book and the movie lived up to it. It made me cry which is good because I love feeling emotions. I know that sounds weird, that I like crying, but it makes me feel alive more than sad.
Anyways I'd just like to thank S.E Hinton and everyone who had something to do with the making of "The Outsiders" film.
And that's all I have to say.
Thanks for reading.
Tell me what you think below :) Love hearing other opinions!
Sincerely,
Sidny♥♪♫

Book Review: Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

"You can't stop the future.
You can't change rewind the past
The only way to learn the secret
... is to press pl►y."

"Clay Jensen doesn't want anything to do with the tapes Hannah Baker made. Hannah is dead. Her secrets should be buried with her.
Then Hanah voice tells Clay that his name ison her tapes- and that he is, in some way, responisible for her death.
All through the night, Clay keeps listening. He follows Hannah's recorded words throughout his small town...
and what he discovers changes his life forever."

"Clay Jensen returns home school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker- his classmate and crush- who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
Hannah's voice tells him that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay's one of them. If he listens, he'll find out why.
Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a first-hand witness to Hannah's pain, and learns the truth about himself- a truth he never wanted to face."

MY RATING: 10/10♥

I love this book! It shows so many types of different people. Jay Asher really got "us"- the readers, inside Hannah's head. It made me realize there are many reasons why people committ suicide each and everyday. The chaqracters were perfect, all of them, even if some were just terrible. As a person who once or twice thought about suicide this book helped me see the damage it could do to those around me. It, this book, mainly taught me how life is sometimes like a domino effect. Sometimes in good ways and other times in bad ways. In this case it was bad. It taught me how getting involved in a rumour or even passing one on can begin to ruin someones life. You should be careful about what you say and do.
THANK YOU JAY ASHER FOR SHOWING A REAL LIFE SITUATION!
Sincerely,
Sidny♥♪♫

Spoiler: Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

This book amazed me and terrified me at the same time. It really connected with me because there are so many kids getting bullied and not enough people who care to go around. I just want to say that I care and if anyone here would like to message me, I'm hear to talk.
It's important that we're accepting and don't just believe what people say. Otherwise you'd hear around my school that I'm a stuck up brat who sleeps with anything that walks by... NOT TRUE! Well not sure about the brat part but I'm certain about the not sleeping around thing.

Rumours float around schools and target so many people. People just like you and me. One terrible thing can lead to a huge downward spiral for anyone around you.,

I know some of you reading this, if there's anyone reading it, will think this is stupid and it's the same thing you hear about at school. You'll think this is just weird to rant about and roll your eyes. If you do any of those, or even if you don't do any, please read this book and maybe it will help you understand the reason I'm saying all this.

CHARACTERS:
Hannah: Her story is sad... but it needs to be told. Asher made her feel real! I cried alot about the fact that she went through with it and not only that but the way she was treated was horrible!
Clay: Hannah and him would have been amazing together... I have no doubts. He must have went through a horrible time having to see all those people on the tapes. I love him! Another fantasy crush!
Many of the character I won't discuss by name but oh so many disgusted me. But I learnt from them all. They all taugh me lessons.

"I'm actually not sure how this whole dead thing works. Who knows, maybe I'm standing behind you right now.

"And when I say my final words... well, probably not my final words, but the last words on these tapes... it's going to be one tight, well-connected, emotional ball of words.

I know that isn't alot of line but I was so caught up I forgot to write a few down.

Kate's Choice: Luv ya Bunches by Lauren Myracle

"In this fresh, funny new series, four girls discover that the best friendships happen by accident."
"A chance collision on the first day of fifth grade brings together four girls with something special in common.
First there's new girl Violet, who asks for directions...
Then there's bouncy Katie-Rose, who gestures a little too enthusiastically...
Then there's quiet Yasaman, who passes by at the wrong moment...
And then there's popular girl Camilla, who takes a spectacular tumble, along with the precious contents of her backpack...
How her lucky bobble-head turtle ends up as part of a sinister plot devised by the queen bee Medusa- er, Modessa- is a BIG MESSY MESS that the four "flowers" must get to the bottom of together. Along the way, they'll discover something even more exciting: friendship."

This is the first ever Kate's Choice and it's in honor of my sister and her awesome reading. This is for all those preteens out there who aren't quite at the young adult age yet. Hope you enjoy it. I interviewed my sister about what she thinks about this book.... sooo.... here we go!

Why did you enjoy this book?
I like it because it's from many girls' points of view and their all around my age. It helped me explore different cultures and walks of life.

Who would you recommend it to?
Every girl around my age... I'm 10.

Why did you decide to read this book?
The way it described the girls on the back it seemed fun and a great way to experience new culture.

Do you plan on reading the next book?
Yes, I do!

*What's your favourite part?* SPOILER ALERT
My favourite part is when you find out what happened to Violet's mom.

*What's your least favourite part?* SPOILER ALERT
My least favourite part is when Modessa accuses Katie-Rose of stealing Tally the Turtle.

Who's your favourite character?
My fave character is Yasamine, because she seems shy, but once you get to know her you see a whole nother side.

What's your favorite part about the book itself?
The way it's written makes it fairly easy to understand and everyone's feelings are well expressed.

Who do you relate most with?
Katie-Rose because it's very easy to understand what she's thinking and what she means.

Finally, out of ten, what do you rate this book?
9.5/10. It' isn't quite a ten because some parts didn't make sense to me. Most of it was easy to understand but i wish they would have explained the cultures more.

Thanks all for reading :D
Sincerely,
Sidny

Book Review: Sharing Sam by Katherine Applegate

"Alison Chapman has always believed she'd fall in love hard. And she does- with Sam Cody, a new guy with a gorgeous face and brooding eyes, a guy who's impossible to resist. When Sam asks her to the Valentine's Day dance, Alison is elated... until she finds out that her best friend, Isabella Cates-Lopez, has fallen for Sam too... until she find out that Isabella is dying. Now Alison wants Isabella's last days to be her happiest ever- even if she and Sam have to hide their love. Even if, by sharing Sam, Alison risks losing him forever." "Katherine Applegate's poignant novel of love, loss and the sacrifices made for true friendship will stir readers' hearts."

MY RATING: 10/10

This book is an amazing story that has changed my view of life forever.
It isn't often that you find a book that shows the best friends side of the story. I think it's great that we got to see Alison's life during this tragic event. I found that while I could see everyone's side of this "story" I related mostly with Alison. She gave everything for her best friend. I like to think that I'd do the same. Stritcly speaking, I think this book is good for everyone. Maybe not if you can't deal with grief, but feeling emotion is part of being human. I cried, laughed and yelled at this book. I think that's when I know it's a great one. When you show all three emotions of happiness, sadness and anger, you should know that the book is going to be good.
While this book is sad, it teaches us. It taught me not to take a moment for granted. And that I'd do anything for my best friends, I'd rather I be unhappy than them.
I hope that you guys out there decide to read this book and agree. Comment what you thought below :)

THANK YOU KATHERINE APPLEGATE FOR SHOWING AMAZING FRIENDSHIP AND LOYALTY! Sincerely,
Sidny♥♪♫

Spoiler: Sharing Sam by Katherine Applegate

This book amazes me and I just finished it. It makes you think about the what ifs in life. I think many realise that death is inevitable, but the courage to face it is amazing. The fact that Alison what right there with Izzy no matter what amazes me. Would I be able to do that? Would I be there? Would I give up my true love for my best friends happiness? What if I was like Izzy? Would I know what to do? See what I mean. It makes you wonder
Mostly, I knew as soon as I read the first page, that i was going to like this book . The description doesn't seem to show how heart wreching it truely is. And I mean that in the best way possible.
Alison: She shows amazing bravery and loyalty. I can't believe that she gave up Sam but I'm happy she did. She went through alot and it was great to learn about what the people close to someone with a deadly illness go through.
Izzy: I can't imagine going through cancer. It scares me so much the possibilities and the fact that we all will die... that frightens me also. We see a real side to Izzy about how she feels and I think she puts on a show for people, so that they can pretend that everything is all right. I'm blessed to have even had the chance to read this book.
Sam: He has alot on his plate and I almost wish that he hadn't allowed Alison to talk him into dating Izzy, because it hurt him and the girls. In the end he was the perfect character. He feel for them both and that had to be hard. I'm happy that in the end he came to term with he's feelings and said goodbye the best way possible.
Morgan: He is another huge factor in this book. I feel terrible for those with mental illness as a result from old age. It doesn't seem fair to be robbed of your mind and yet it happens everyday. I know that his character is one that many can relate with. I don't think there are many who haven't been encountered by one illness of the elderly.

♥Lines and Moments♥:
♥Pg. 1
"Some people said Sam had robbed a Get n' Go in Okeechobee. Some said he was an undercover narc. A reliable source in the girls' bathroom claimed he was Mick Jagger's illegitimate son."

♥Pg. 4
"I checked his head wound. It was bleeding, all right, although not very dramatically. I needed something to bind the cut. There was only one thing to do. I took off my T-shirt. Fortunately, I had a bathing suit top on underneath.
'Maybe I'm in heaven after all,' Sam said.
I tried to rip the T-shirt with my teeth. It always work in the movies.
The movies, it just so happens, are full of crap."

♥Pg. 8
"I could smell seat and tobacco and grass and skin, all mixed in with horse. Sound awful, I know. It wasn't.
We fell into a smooth, gentle back-and-forth rol that was all Snicker's doing. My breasts grazed Sam's back, my thighs, his thighs. Sounds harmless, I know. It wasn't."

♥Pg. 25
"Same was slowly making his way across the. I wondered if he'd ever seen a doctor. The cut on his forehead was a thin black line. I felt this wild rush of hope as he approached. I don't know what I was hoping for, exactly. Unless maybe it was the insane fantasy that he'd swoop me into his arms and tell me that his life had been forever changed since that moment we'd first touched in the orange grove.
'Hi,' he said.
So much for the fantasy."

♥Pg. 29
"Izzy slit open the manila envelope. 'Fo your wall at the hospital,' I explained as she pulled out the Michelin street map of Paris."

♥Pg. 30
" 'I brought you this.' He passed me a rolled-up wad of gray fabric. It took me second to realize that t was a T-shirt. 'I felt bad, you know, about your shirt. And I'm kinda strapped for cash until I get my bike fixed.'
I unrolled the shirt. It was huge and smelled of Tide.
'It's almost new. i only wore it twice. And I washed it.' "

♥Pg. 34
" 'If my family's normal, we're all in troube.' "

♥Pg. 36
"Sam crossed his arms. 'You're an interesting girl, Alison.'
'No, I"m not. I'm really pretty average.'
'You shouldn't say that.'
'Why not? It's true.'
'Because you might start to believing it.' "

♥Pg. 45
" 'I should shower first.' I said nervously, ont to Sara, not to Sam, more or less to Snickers, actually.
'I just got off work,' Sam said. 'I'm covered in grease and sweat. We can offend each other.' "

♥Pg. 58
" 'Guess I should have warned youHe's kind of unpredictable.'
'I like him. I've never had my hand kissed before. Come to think of it, I've never had a parrot come on to me either.' "

♥Pg. 73
" 'Maybe ther's more to Steve than meets th eye,' I suggested.
'Steve? No way. We're just good buds, you know that.'
'You sure? He has a pet name for you.'
'Dumbo is not a pet name. It's a term of ridicule.
'Still-'
'Nah. I've tried to look at him that way, but I can tell it would be like a NutraSweet love. You know- you convice yourself it's okay, then there's this weird aftertaste.' "

♥Pg. 84
" 'I clean up dog vomit all day, Jim,' she was saying. 'I am a veterinarian. I live and breathe dog vomit. All I am saying is, we have too many pets.'
'Just a dog, a cat and a horse,' my dad called from the kitchen. He danced (Badly) into the living room, a wooden spoon in one hand. 'Man, you're one gorgeous hunk of woman,' He said to my mom.
She held up a piece of paper towel. 'I am scraping up dog vomit off your fifteen-year-old carpet with the cat pee stain we have to cover wither your mother's sewing basket, and you are actually capable of having impure thoughts?' "

♥Pg. 86
" 'Love is scary sometimes.'
My father reappeared, still brandishing a spoon. Tomato sauce striped his cheek like war paint.
"I rest my case,' my mom whispered. 'Scarey stuff, love.' "

♥Pg. 117
" 'What do you thin happens when you die, Al?'
'I don't know,' I said softly. 'I'd like to think you go to a place without zits and static cling. But I can't find a religion that buys into that.' "

♥Pg. 150
" 'Izzy wanted me to giveyou this.'
I gave her a hug and then i went to sit at a quiet place near the waves. Inside the envelope was the map of Paris I'd given her. There was anote paper-clipped to the top.
Al-
You and Sam will be needing this.
Thanks for sharing. I love you
Iz"

Book Review: Hades by Alexandra Adornetto

"Bethany Church is an angel sent to Earth to keep dark forces at bay. Falling in low was never part of her mission, but the bond between Beth and her mortal boyfriend, Xavier Woods, is undeniably strong. But even Xavier's love and the care of her archangel siblings, Gabriel and Ivy, can't keep Beth from being tricked into motorcycle ride that ends up in Hell. There, the demon Jake Thorn bargains for Beth's release back to Earth. but what he asks of her will destroy he, and quite possibly, he loved ones, as well. "
"Something happened- something I could never have imagined. It was so unfathomable, I felt nothing but a sickening feeling that seemed to come from my core and spread like poison through my body. Th highway defied gravity and suddenly reared in front of us. A deep jagged crack appeared in its centre. The highway was splitting open. The crack widened like a hungry cavernous mouth, waiting to swallow us up. The wind that whipped my face grew warmer, and steam rose from the broken asphalt. I knew instinctively what it was from the feeling of hollow emptiness that emanated from it. It was a gateway to Hell, and we were heading straight toward it."

MY RATING: 9/10
Although this book was quite good, I found that it didn't live up to the first book. The characters seemed to change. I found Bethany a lot more naive and it wasn't cute like it was in the first book. This book showed a very different side of Xavier and I'm not sure if I liked it. He has been one of my favourites for such a long time though. One of the things I did like was seeing a different side of Jake Thorn. I knew after reading the first book that he wouldn't just vanish. He had to come back and bam... there he was.
This book may contain a few adult thoughts but all and all I think that anyone in their "young adult years" would be able to read it without being scared for life :P
My favourite thing about this series is how the end grips you and makes you want to read the next one. The ending suspense is great!
THANK YOU ALEXANDRIA ADORNETTO FOR SHOWING US A GREAT USE OF SUSPENSE!
Sincerely, Sidny♥♪♫

Spoiler: Hades by Alexandra Adornetto

Although this book didn't live up to the first, I still enjoyed it. I felt like we got to know the characters better. This series is very interesting and the use of suspense is good.
Bethany: Someone might hate me for saying this but Bethany seems to be getting stupider with time. At first it was cute but now it's just maddening. I wish that she wasn't marrying Xavier in a way because welll that could cause like a million problems! Maybe somewhere deep down she felt something for Jake Thorn.
Xavier: He is an amazing bf and he would protect her against everything. It take a real man to propose the way he did. He must really love Beth. He never gave up :')
Gabriel: I think he loves Molly but he doesn't want to lose his status as an archangel and infuriate Heavan. They would be soooo goood together though!
Ivy: She is the best big sister ever. She understand why Beth loves Xavier and the best thing is she's a strong woman.
Molly: She really loves Gab and they are so sweet. I wish that it would have worked out. But am I the only one that noticed that when they broke into hell... she was missing? Like where the hell was she? Did they just leave her behind and the motel or did I just miss something major.
Jake: He might have actually felt passion for Beth and at the end I think it was him rumbling the earth because he was mad at Xavier for his proposal and Berthany's approval.

Favourite/Memorable Lines and Moments:
♥Pg,4
" 'I was so wasted I don't remember a damn thing,' Lawson declared.
'I remember you tried to hook up with me,' replied a boy named Wesley in his lilting accent. He contorted his face into a grimace.
'Whatever... it was dark. You could do alot worse.'
'Not funny,' Wesley growled. 'Someone posted a picture on Facebook. What am I gonna tell Jess?'
'Tell her you couldn't resist Lawson's ripped body.' Xavier thumped his friend on the back as he sauntered past. 'He's really built from all those hours on the PlayStation.' "

♥Pg. 8
" 'Oh, Bethany, relax. We're used to the PDAs by now.'
'Where did you learn that?' I asked curiously. I'd never heard Ivy use abbreviated colloquialisms. Her formal speech usually sounded so out of place in the modern world.
'I do spend time with young people, you know,' she said. 'I'm trying to be hip.'
Gabriel and I burst out laughing."

♥Pg. 15
" 'But don't let them talk you into anything you don't feel comfortable with.'
'They're my friends.'
'So what?' He shrugged. 'If your friends walked off a cliff, would you do it too?'
'Why would they walk off a cliff?' I asked in alarm. 'Is someone having problems at home?' "

♥Pg. 22
" When Xavier arrived he was dressed as a cowboy in faded jeans, tan boots and a checkered shirt. he even wore a leather cowboy hat.
'Trick or treat?' he said with a grin.
'No offence, but you don't look anything like Batman.'
'Aint no need to be nasty now ma'am,' Xavier said, adopting a heavy Texan accent. 'Are you ready to go? Our ride's awaitin' '
I laughed. 'You're going to keep this up all night aren't you?'
'Probably,' Xavier said. 'I'm driving you wild with desire aren't I?' My brother coughed to remind us of his presence."

♥PG. 70
"Larissa bared er teeth in a smile before grabbing a tight hold of my wrist and turning it upward. Her grip a cold and claw-like, but I tried not flinch. She held my wrist faceup as Elliott pressed something down on the inside. I braced myself to feel pain, but when I looked, he'd only left an inky imprint behind. It was a stamp of admittance in the form of a smiley face. "

♥Pg. 112
" 'So what's with the Mary Sue outfit ?' Asia asked, plucking at the frilly sleeve of my dress. 'You got some fetish for Southern belles? It's very pure. That's what this is all about, right? But did you really have to dress her like she's twelve?'
'No one dressed me,' I snapped.
'Oh, how cute!' Asia threw me a scathing look. 'It talks.' "

♥Pg. 135
"I wanted to reach out and take his face in my hands, to tell him that I was okay- trapped, lonely and miserable but otherwise unharmed."

♥Pg. 159.
" 'University of Alabama?' I asked. 'Molly and the girls have applied there. They want to be sorority sisters.'
'Another three years with Molly?' Xavier wrinkled his nose teasingly."

♥Pg. 161
" 'I don't know what happened between you and Beth, but it can't be so bad.'
Xavier let out a short, humourless laugh and I guessed what he was thinking. He want to say, 'Well, Mom, my girlfriend was abducted by a demon ex-student of Bryce Hamilton and dragged into Hell on the back of a motorbike and right now we've got no idea how to bring back. So, yeah, actually it is that bad.' "

♥Pg. 177.
" 'Bethany's friend or not, this girl could make a preacher cuss.' "

♥Pg. 200.
" 'You won't handle anything.' Gabriel's tone was chilling. 'Is that clear? Control your raging testosterone for a minute and listen. I know you want Beth back- we all do- but acting like some comic-book hero isn't going to help.' "

♥Pg. 388
" 'I just always imagine it would be with him,' I murmured almost to myself.
'I know,' Jake said, his voice drenched with exaggerated sympathy. 'And usually I'd be more than open to the prospect of a threesome, but under such circumstances I think it might be a little awkward.' '

♥Pg. 394
" 'Michael wouldn't send us on a wild goose chase,' Ivy murmured. 'There must be something he wants us to do.'
'Or maybe he's just a douche.'
'Indeed,' said a disembodied voice behind them."

Book Review: Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson

"During the summer of 1793, Mattie Cook lives above the family coffee shop with her widowed mother and grandfather. Mattie spends her days avoiding chores and making plans to turn the family business into the finest Philadelphia has ever seen. But then the fever breaks out.
Disease sweeps the streets, destroying everything in its path and turning Mattie's world upside down. At her feverish mother's insistence, Mattie flees the city with her grandfather. But she soon discovers that the sickness is everywhere, and Mattie must learn quickly how to survive in a city turned frantic with disease."

MY RATING: 9/10

If you like to hear about the past... I think you'll find this book very good. Even though I'm Canadian this book was amazing. Laurie H. Anderson, made the events very vivid to a the present day and used amazing language that took me back in time. I could see all the characters and although I have never been to Philadelphia when I closed my eyes I saw the abandoned streets and boarded up windows.
I honestly enjoyed the fact that she made history a ton more interesting.
THANK YOU LAURIE HALSE ANDERSON FOR MAKING THE PAST SO VIVID IN MY PRESENT MIND!
Sincerely, Sidny

Book Review: Soulstice by Simon Holt

The Vours: Evil, demonic beings that inhabit human bodies on Sorry Night, the darkest hours of the winter soulstice."
"Six Months...
Since Reggie first discovered the existence of Vours in a tattered journal.
Since her little brother, Henry, began to mutilate animals and turn against her.
Since she learned to overcome her fear and destroyed a Vour to save Henry.
Now as the summer solstice approaches, the Vours still haunt Reggie, but only in her dreams- until one night, when an unexpected visitor turns her nightmares into reality."

MY RATING: 9/10
I still get amazed by the ideas behind a Vour. A monster that you can't see, a monster that can live all around you, and mostly a monster that knows everyones deepest fear.
However Simon Holt came up with this idea, I must say I'm jealous of his imagination.
I loved the characters and found this book alot better than the first one. The action was the perfect amount and you got to know the main character more.
I would suggest this book to anyone who is interested in horror or mystery.
There is a little bit of strong language and in my library it was found in the Young Adult section... just so you know!
THANKS SIMON HOLT FOR A GIRL WHO CAN CONQUER HER FEARS
Sincerely, Sidny♥♪♫

Spoiler: Soulstice by Simon Holt

After the first book, I didn't think I would like the second one at all but I give every series three chances! (that goes for people too).
This book was very well written and the ideas were better protrayed. We also learnt alot more about the characters.
Reggie: I felt like in the first book we were hearing about a stranger but in this book we got to know her and her fears/ feelings. She is truely a good person who just wants to help everyone. I'm sad that Quinn was such a jerk to her and I truly believed that he was not a bad vour but that's an oxymoron. I'm not so happy that she told her dad what was going on! No shit he thought she was crazzzzyyyyy.
Aaron: Is it plain to anyone else that he loves Reggie? Or is it all in my head? I mean they would be so cute together... fighting evil. Best superhero couple ever? I think maybe!
Eben: WTF! He died? I hate when my favourite people die but I guess he couldn't be a ninja like vour hunter 4ever :(
Quinn: I thought he was an exception and that he was a good Vour and proving that Vours could change! Well that kinda blew up in my face. But now he has changed and he's all lovely and human again :D
Dr. Unger: What a freak? Did he ever think that if he helped the Vours he would get Vourized? Seriously!
My Favourite Parts:
♥Pg. 59
"Reggie set the box upon the table and stared at it for a few minutes, half-expecting it to explode. Finally, she undid the ribbon and opened it.
She screamed and pushed the box away. It teetered on the edge of the table and fell, scattering the dainty pink and white flowers that were inside it across the floor. The flowers were covered in a sticky red liquid.
Bleeding Hearts."

♥Pg. 94
" "Freshman year,' he said.'We made it. And with only one body possession and one accidental death to our names.' "

♥Pg. 121

'Like hell I can't. Where did they go?'

Eben leaned back in the seat and looked in the rearview mirror. No one was coming. He reached down and fumbled around with more wires, and the car engine roared to life.
Aaron was slack-jawed.
'You're going to teach me how to do that someday, right?'
'Aaron, get in the car.' "

Book Review: The Secrets of Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson

"A delicious sequel to the national bestseller Peaches."
"After a magical summer living on a peach orchard, Murphy, Leeda and Birdie confront a series of breakups, make-ups and take-offs. They have to leave one another. along with the orchard that brought them together. But despite their heartbreak, this year's bitter endings could lead to the sweetest of new beginnings."

MY RATING: 9/10
I'm going to keep this short and sweet.
I love a good chicklit! This book shows alot of character and has a few unexpected twists but all and all it's a very feel good book. I love the characters, the setting and the way that Jodi Lynn Anderson writes interesting things between chapters.
The way that everything connects is amazing and it must have taken her forever to plan it.
I would recommend this to any of my girlfriends. And one who has read it completely agrees. She loves them!
I find that the characters are complex but just enough so. They aren't at all predictable but not so complex that you just can't figure them out.
I will warn any young readers out there that this book contains a few "young adult" moments.
I hope that you all take the time to read, but even if your not a reader this might be a perfect book for you!
THANK YOU JODI LYNN ANDERSON, FOR THREE GIRLS THAT ARE SO RELATABLE!
Sincerely, Sidny♥♪♫

Spoiler: The Secrets of Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson

This book is a little bit of drama, a little bit of sad and a whole bucket full of attitude. The way taht Jodi Lynn Made these characters completely unique and yet the same is amazing and a complex piece of work.
Murphy: She has changed alot in this book and we learn that she is afraid to get attatched. I know that she really loves Rex and he her. I was really mad when she broke up with him to go to New York. I guess something just work that way though. She feels bad about attatchment llike it will hold her down. And in some ways I can understand that. I really love her lippyness. It makes her the perfect amount of caring and sarcastic.
Leeda: She just started to act weird near the end. After the pnemonia. She wanted to seperate herself from everyone so goodbye's would be easier but really I think that just made everything ten times harder!
She was just down right rude and not Murphy rude, but just mean! I was upset by the Pecan Parade when her mother didn't show up. Her mom is all excuses but that doesn't mean that Leeda has to be like that too. I'm happy she moved with Murphy and that she wasn't home as much in this one!
Birdie: She is such a sweetheart. I feel bad about her dad and Poopie (still can't get over that her real name). She must have felt so awkward. I was disappointed when her and Enrico slept together. They should have waited but he only did what she wanted. I think that she should have never stopped talking to Enrico, they're just to right for each other. He's there for her no matter what! I'm happy that they got back together in the end and are both in Mexico!
Rex: It isn't fair that he has to suffer heartache because of Murphy wanting to go. i think he should have went with her. Never leaving her side seems like the best option. They could have even had a long distance relationship, it might have worked!
Enrico: This man might be my dream guy! He doesn't just want sex from Birdie. He truely wants to be with her emotionally and mentally. TRUE LOVE♥
MY FAVOURITE LINES/MOMENTS:
♥Pg. 1
" Summer was one thing. Summer was skinny-dipping in the lake."

♥Pg. 26
"He was trying to get arise out of her by calling her Shorts. Murphy hated nicknames. She made a big deal of not caring and looked behind her. he had a backpack, a themos of what was almost definitely sweet tea, and a tiny radio.
'Are you trying to seduce me?' "

♥Pg. 28
" 'Do you think in your last light you might have been a hobo?' Rex asked. 'Because you look hungry for a train.' "

♥Pg.32
"Rex took it in, nodding. 'It sounds great. But I wouldn't go for New York. Or to get out of here. I'd be going for the girl.' "

♥PG. 42
"They stepped to the threshold, a little shocked to see piles of ancient tools, farm gear, dusty saddles, and old funiture scattered everywhere. Birdie stood in the middle of all of it.
'Dang, Birdie,' Leeda said. 'If we get all this stuff cleaned out, are we going to find the earth's molten core?' "

♥Pg. 83
" 'My mom's... into me or something. Maybe now. Maybe now that I'm leaving. Or that she's sick. Or something. She calls me, like, three times a day. She's not so bad right now.'
'Not bad relative to Satan?' "

♥Pg.84
" 'He's just so... just... a...'
'He's a cafe con leche love biscuit,' Murphy said. Thay all knew Birdie was talking about Enrico by the stupid goofy look on her face. Rex let out a short choppy laugh.
But Birdie just sank deeper against the table. 'You know what? I even like the letter E better now,' "

♥Pg. 101
" 'Do you think the fried Mars bar truck will be here?' "

♥Pg. 168
" In all the photos where her mom appeared where her mom appeared, it was the same. Lucretia always looked better. Her hair was neater, her clothes were prettier, her smile was more majestic. She was always her own special and superior island.
'Her smile never reaches her eyes,' Birdie said.
Leeda smiled sardonically. 'That's because she's a robot.' "

♥Pg. 176
" 'Where's my stuff?'
Enrico sat up too. 'You're in my room.' Birdie must have looked horrified because he laughed and then said, 'Don't look so worried, I'm on the couch. ' "

♥Pg. 179
" 'All he talk about is Birdie, Birdie, Birdie.. All summer too, before you told each other how you felt.' "

♥Pg. 191
"It rained and rained. Minute after minute went by, and it didn't let up. How long did heavy rains like this last in Mexico? Birdie could hear Enrico breathing, and it made her nervous to be this alone.
'We may have to sleep here,' Enrico said.
Birdie turned her face to him, horrified, but he laughed. 'Kidding, Birdie.' "

♥Pg. 194
" 'I saw you crying, and...' He, too, seemed to suddenly get how funny it was because he grinned. 'Yeah. And now i have a chicken.' "

♥Pg. 210
" 'HOw long has it been since your last confession?'
Birdie thought. What day was it today? January thirteenth, fourteenth? 'Um, eight months?' It hadn't been since before the summer. She guessed it had slipped her mind.
'Go on.'
'I...' Birdie cleared her throat. 'I Googled a couple of answers on my history test.'
'Yes?'
'And... I committed adultery and...' Birdie said it low and fast 'I...'
'Wait.'
Birdie swallowed.
'Birdie is this like the time you thought you committed adultery because you had mooned someone?' "

♥Pg. 266
" 'You wanna go do something? Something away from here?'
Murphy seemed to be thinking. 'Yeah.'
'We can do anything you want.'
Murphy seemed to think some more. And then she sat up all the way, and Birdie could finally see something of her in the dark. She could see the white of her smile. Birdie knew to be immediately afraid. "

♥Pg. 282
"Finally she asked, 'Why do you keep loving me, Birdie?'
Birdie looked at her like she was really thinking about it. 'I love you because you're leeda. I just... I don't know, i guess it's too late to not love you. So I just accept you.'
Leeda tried to harness what she wanted to say. It was hard to put it into words. 'I can't even imagine what kind of person you see when you look at me. I mean, I can't think of who it is you think you're accepting.'
Birdie put her hand on Leeda's and crushed her fingers in her brave Birdie way. 'Just you, Leeda. I just love whoever you are.' "

In conclusion to all of that I love this series and hope to read the third one "Love and Peaches" soon. Next on the list is Soulstice.
Sincerely, Sidny♥♪♫

Book Review: The Devouring by Simon Holt

"The Vours: Evil, dmeonic beings that inhabit human bodies on Sorry Night, the darkest hours of the winter solstice.
When dark creeps in and eats the light.
Bury your fears on Sorry Night.
For in the winter's blackest hours
Comes the feasting of the Vours.
No one can see it, the life they stole,
Your body's here but not your soul..."

MY RATING: 7/10

While I did enjoy this book and the ideas behind it, I had problem wrapping my head around the organization of all the thoughts. I enjoyed the fact that the Vours could not be seen and even though I got to being all paranoid about every character in the book being a Vour, but the way that the main characters target the "monsters", isn't a conventional one. I do enjoy the idea for certain of unseen monsters because that makes the story more real for the reader. Simon Holt seemed to have a ton of ideas but some of them just didn't seem to connect with each other. Although the plot was a little fuzy for me, the lines and moments are forever etched in my mind.
I know that's a lot of critisim but that's kinda what I do. I either love, like or hate a book. This one I like it, but I don't love it. I do plan, though, to read the sequel Soulstice.
THANK YOU SIMON HOLT, FOR MAKING THE SCARIEST MONSTERS!

Thanks for reading!

Spoiler: The Devouring by Simon Holt

And as you'll see in the review above (that's for those of you who haven't read it yet... I wouldn't wanna spoil this!) this isn't one of my favourite books in the history of time... but I did enjoy it. The beginning was kinda weird. I mean you find a journal in a horror bookstore, that looks to be hand written and you can't find anything about it or anyone else who has it? Seriously I'm pretty sure that that means that you are reading a legit journal.
I feel terrible that Regina's Mom just up and left but I'm thinking she's a Vour.
Regina: She seems almost to have alot of problems, with her life, her mom, her dad and horror is her way of covering it up. And not saying that a girl and guy can't be friends but I think that her and Aaron would be CUTE! Quinn was a total creep and I honestly think Regina deserves to be happy.
Henry: He's just a scared kid dealing with the fact that their mother left them and he thinks its them. It would be hard for a kid his age. I feel terrible he got "possessed" by a Vour.
Aaron: So I'm sure that this kid has some emotional problems... but even if he doestn's he's funny as all get out! And that's a saying around here that means as hell! I think Regina and he are going to be a couple :D
Eben: I thought he was Vour. I'll be honest. He seemed way to good to be true. I like him though now that i think it through.
Macie: Without her they would have never figured out what the frick was going on! Thank gosh. It's to bad that she went insane...
Quinn: Well who saw that coming?!

Reggie rolled her eyes. 'Not more serial killers.'
'This is great stuff, Reg,' said Aaron, flipping through the book. 'Take Richard Chase, the 'Vampire of Sacramento.' He put the blood and brains of his victims in a blender and then drank them; he thought his blood was turning to powder and heneeded fresh goods to replenish it.'

Book Review: Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson

"Three Georgia peaches are in for one juicy summer...
... but Birdie would rather eat Thin Mints and sulck in the A/C
Leeda would prefer to sneak off with her boyfriend, Rex.
And Murphy would rather cause a little mischief.
Together these three very different girls will discover the secret to finding the right boy, making the truest friends, and picking the perfect Georgia peach."

MY RATING: 9/10

This book is truely one of a kind. I loved every single moment and sometimes I'd start thinking as my friends as the characters... and that's not because I'm insane... well maybe just a little. I loved the way that Jodi made you feel like you were best friends with all the characters as it is. I also enjoyed the little tid bits from the past. I felt like I was watching all the events in this book take place. This is a great girl read. If you like chickflicks and you like to read you would most likely enjoy this book. The most important thing I can say is that this book is like A country Gossip Girl novel. The drama is just right! THANK YOU JODI LYNN ANDERSON FOR AN AMAZING CHICKLIT ABOUT TRUE FRIENDS!
I can't wait to start reading the sequel "The Secrets of Peaches" as soon as I complete "The Devouring".
Hope you enjoy :D Sincerely, Sidny ♥

Spoiler: Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson

This book, is a gift to us all and we should cherish it close to our hearts. It shows who we are behind the walls we make. I found that in my group of three friends, we all kinda relate to one of the three main characters.
Muphy: I think I relate most with Murphy she's sarcastic and sometimes even blunt but inside she's a really good person. She puts on a tough front but I always think that deep inside she cares. I'm happy for her and Rex. They are super cute!
Birdie: She is so naive and believes everything.. I thnk this relates to my friend "Beth". She's naive in a good way though, Beth, like Birdie always believes in teh best of everyone and has so much hope. Hope is a strong thing and without it things are not quite the same. I love how the hurricane missed them but just enough. It was a great way to show how great Birdie's character was. I'm unbelievably ecstatic that the orchard stayed and that the got Enrico.
Leeda: Leeda seems to have this perfect life but in reality she's just putting on a show that everything is all right. Which it really isn't. I hate how her mother treats her like absolute shit. And sometimes her sister can be a brat too but all and all with the help of her friends she works things out. It's sad that she lost Rex but I don't think she loved him anyway. I think she relates to my friend "Kyla." She is always worried about everyone else and doesn't worry about her own problems.
Rex: He shouldn't have cheated on Leeda but he really did work better with Murphy. They just seemed meant for each other. And though I don't believe cheating is ever the answer.. they were meant to be.
Enrico: Strange and mysterious. I like him also :D
These character make the story!

♥Pg. 104
As she watched him walk away, Birdie considered going after him, in a way they did in the movies. She pictured calling him and running up to him and just planting a kiss on him. She nevisioned him turning and walking back and planting one on her. She imagined sneaking into his room in a few minutes and kissing him then."

♥PG. 105
"The view was enough to make a person think that God was smiling on Horatio Balmeade. he would never have to worry about frost, unless it might kill his imported pine trees, which had no business being in Georgia in the first place. A person could assume that his club would never have any problems, that it would always be perfect, and that at some point it was inevitable it would swallow up the mess of the orchard.
But Birdie saw it differently.
She took it as a good omen that the sun, though it was shining on Horatio Balmeade and all of his glittereing property was the exact same color every morning. That is, it was the exact same color of peaches."

'That's what I do to people who annoy me."
'Listen, I'm having people over tonight...'
'And you're wondering if I can come over so you can give me whiskey and Gatorade and try to feel me up. At which point I'll smack you.'

♥Pg. 131
"Murphy looked at Leeda. 'See you pissed her off. Your cousin's a total powder keg.'
Leeda scowled at her back as she walked on ahead. Bridie wasn't a powder keg. She wasn't even a firecracker. She was maybe, at most, a sparkler."

♥Pg. 136
"When she looked up, her dad was at the bottom of the stairs.
'What are you doing?' he demanded.
Birdie froze. 'Um, just... making sure everybody has what they need. What... are you doing?'
Walter relxed a bit. 'I came to look for you.' "

♥Pg.161
"Everey nigth seh was shocked by the many uses of peaches. The women knew how to make anything out of them -peach-and-pecan soup, peach salsa, peach-and-onion fritters, peach-and-amaretto jelly."

♥PG. 195
" 'Those trees are so ugly,' Birdie said distastefully, pointing to the skinny Italian pines. leeda had always thought they were pretty, but now, she realized her taste had shifted. They didn't look ugly to her. But they didn't look right either.
'I'd like to stick one of those trees up Horatio Balmeade's butt,' Murphy said casually and Birdie giggled."

♥PG. 214
" 'Birdie he likes you. Why wouldn't he? You're beautiful, you're funny, you're sweet.'
'You have the best hair,' Murphy added.
Ledda nodded in agreement. 'You pick a mean peach. You know how to do all this farm stuff that makes you look cool. You're a steel magnolia.' "

" 'Do you think we might die?' Leeda asked. nobody answered. 'Because in case we do, I think we should have one of those deep talks where we spill our guts to each other.'
Birdie and Murphy looked at her for a second. And then they brust out laughing, sor of despereatly.
'You're such a dork,' Birdie said. "

Book Review: Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton

"She lost her arm in a shark attack and nearly died, but she never lost her faith. Now a major motion picture, Soul Surfer is the moving story of Bethany Hamilton's triumphant return to the competitive surfing and has continued to be a beacon of inspiration to all who hear it."

"They say Bethany Hamilton has saltwater in her veins. How else could one explain the passion that drives her to surf? Or that nothing- not even the loss other arm- could come between her and the waves? That Halloween Morning in Kauai, Hawaii, Bethany responded to the shark's stealth attack with the calm of a teenage girl with God on her side, resolutely pushing aside her pain and panic while being rescued and brought back to shore. 'When can I surf again?' was the first thing Bethany asked after her emergency surgery, leaving no doubt that her spirit and determination were part of a greater story- a tale of personal empowerment and spiritual grit that show the body is no more essential to surfing, perhaps even less so, than the soul."

MY RATING: 10/10

There was no way I could base my rating on the characters or events this time. Since this book is full of true events and people, my usual, "I would have changed this event." isn't really possible. I might have changed the order that Bethany told the story, but it is her story, it's something she has to live with the rest of her life. I was shocked to think that she was a little younger than me when she wrote this amazes me :D.
Her story held me captive and i watched the movie 3 times in 2 days.
1) with my besties
2) my baby sister (ok she's ten now but w/e)
3) with my whole family. I literally made them stop whatever they were doing and watch this inspiring movie.
And before some says is the movie as good as the book or vice versa. I would say absolutely! In the book i felt closer to Bethany and God. While in the movie I could understand the terms of surfers way better (i just couldn't wrap my head around it sometimes).
I hope that you all have enjoyed this read :D
THANK YOU BETHANY FOR BEING A TRUE ROLE MODEL!
Sincerely, Sidny

Spoiler: Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton

This book is a blessing to us all.... in my opinion. Bethany makes me personally believe in everything more than before... like my personal pep talk. My faith, my family, my friends and myself all have a more meaningful purpose. I'm also happy to learn about other peoples experiences.
I love how Bethany thought about the the accident would affect everyone, not just herself. She never seemed to be 'woe is me'. She is a superb optimist.
Alan and Holt were amazing. To be there when it happened and still get in the water, it amazes me.
The whole thing affected not only friends and family, but really the whole community. Maybe both in a good way and a bad way. I'm sure more people come now and they have an optimist in Bethany. The bad way.. I'm sure lots we're afraid of the water... I know I would be.
Not only does Bethany inspire confidence and optimistic, she also shows faith. Faith that is almost extinct in the 21st century.
She has inspired me to live everyday like it's my last. And to have a closer relationship with God.

"When Alexis's little sister, Kasey, becomes obsessed with an antique doll, Alexis thinks nothing of it. Kasey is a weird kid. Period. Alexis is considered weird too, by the kids in her high school, by her parents, even by her own goth friends. Things get weirder, though, when the old house they live in start changing. Doors open and close by themselves, water boils on the unlit stove, and an unplugged air conditioner turns the house cold enough for the girls to see their breath. Kasey is changing too. he blue eyes go green, and she uses old-fashioned language, the forgets chunks of time.
Most disturbing of all is the dangerous new chip on Kasey's shoulder. The formerly gentle, doll-loving child is gone, and the new Kasey is angry. Alexis is the only one who can stop her sister- but what if the green-eyed girl isn't even Kasey anymore?"

MY RATING: 9/10
Let's get this straight first! I'm a scaredy cat. A chicken shit... if you will. I got scared from the saw movie trailer. Just the trailer nothing else!
This book was the perfect amount of scary and funny blended together.I truly enjoyed the thrills and shivers I got while reading it at night.
The only reason it didn't make a ten for me was because of the description. The back of the book gives part of it away. I don't want to know it's a doll yet. That just killed the suspense!
Katie Alender made my all time favourite ghost story. I really enjoyed Kasey's character because she is unusual and unique.
THANK YOU KATIE ALENDER FOR A GREAT YOUNG ADULT GHOST STORY!
Sincerely, Sidny

Spoiler: Bad Girls Don't Die by Katie Alender

This book was very great. I enjoyed reading it late at night or during a rainy day :D
Some characters I want to talk about:
-Alexis. So who would have thought this "goth" girl wasn't the tough front she put out. I mean she wasn't really that mean to anyone and when she was I think it was mostly because of the way they had treated her in the past. I think she should have spent more time with Kasey though.. then maybe she would have said no to Sarah. I think her and Carter are uber cute :D
-Megan. So I thought Megan was evil teenager who got everything she wanted but really she was way more like Alexis than I thought possible. I think that "opposites" attract. Thank god for Megan otherwise everyone might have died.
-Kasey. I actually feel bad for her... even though she is a lunatic. She had no friends until Sarah came along and I don't think she knew what was going on. It was kinda fun to hear her go crazy in my imagination.
-Carter. How cute is he? Really? I feel bad that he almost comitted suicide though. He seems like a dream guy... which is probably why he's only in my imagination and on a piece of paper!
-Shara. I was horrified when I thought that she was the evil spirit and that she tried to kill Megan. I couldn't think of a mother who could do such a thing and I'm so happy she didn't!
-Sarah. What an evil little girl! AhHH

Ok so the house was the best setting ever.. the way it was described gave me a great mental image and made the story all the more real to me.
I found a doll that looks eerily like the doll mentioned. I took a picture and if i can ever find my ipod again.. I'll post it for ya.
The necklaces were an awesome idea i just wish there was some more detail about them.

Favourite and Memorable Lines and Moments:
♥PG. 18
"I speak up in class, i get sent to the office. Meagan speaks up in class, she's a 'strong, assertive model student.' I post a few flyers saying that the vending machines on school property are a sign that our school district has sold out to the corporate-industrial establishment, I get (what else?) Saturday detention. Megan starts a campaign to serve local foods in the lunchroom (oh, and can we pleeeeeease maybe get rid of the soda machines?) and the local newspaper does a write-up about her.
She's like me, only not. Not like me at all. She's the golden girl and I'm ... tarnished."

" 'I'm Carter Blume, by the way,' he said.
'Yeah I know.'
'Oh,' He sat in confused silence for a few seconds. 'Can I ask you a very serious question?'
'I'd rather you didn't, ' I said.
He stared straight into my eyes. 'if you were an animal, what animal would you be?'
Wait, what? 'Wait, what?' "

♥PG. 56
" 'Are you going to the dance?' Mom asked somewhere deep down inside she held on to the hope that one night I'd show up with my brown hair back, a pack of preppy friends in tow, and turn into Teen Princess Barbie, homecoming court, star tennis player... like she'd been in high school.
'Oh, yeah,' I said. 'My only problem is trying to decide who to go with- the captain of the football team or Zac Efron.'"

♥PG. 94

I mean most people do, right?"

" 'What are your flaws?'
'In case you haven't noticed, my whole existence is one big flaw,' I said, lying back on the grass next to him and staring at the sky. 'I am a giant pimple on the face of humanity.' "

"It was warm in the sunlight, but a cool hint of break shook the leave on the trees. They shimmied and quaked and reminded me of that dance move called 'Jazz hands,' where you stretch out your hand and wiggle your fingers."

" 'Listen. My grandmother might be home. if you say even a single word about this to her, I'll be grounded until college.'
'Al right,' I said, instantly certain that I would somehow slip and ruin everything. Hi, nice to meet you! Your granddaughter and I are just going to mess with the Dark Side for a while. I love those flowers, are they violets?"

♥PG. 217
"I looked at the dress. It was kind of 1960s looking, with a neckline that went in a straight line from the top of one shoulder to the other, no sleeves. it flared a couple inches under the bust into a puffy skirt that went down to about knee-high. the fabric was kind of stiff, so it stuck out.
'Take it. You're taking it. You have to,' She said. 'Everyone will die.'
'Oh great,' I said. 'Just what I need.' "

♥PG.335
"I threw the doll to the floor, grabbed the baseball bat, and smashed her face to smithereens.
The glow in the eyes faded.
And I was free.
The house was free.
We were all free.
Except the part where I was trapped in a burning attic."

♥PG. 342
" 'You have such a pretty smile,' Mom sighed.
I glanced up at her. She was smiling too, and her eyes were a little watery.
'Don't cry,' I ordered. 'I"ll never go to prom again if you can't keep it together.' "

♥PG.343
" "That's the doorbell!' Mom said and scrambled away to answer it.
'Forgive her,' I said to Megan. 'It's her first prom in twenty years. She's a little nervous.' "

" 'I'm not... I mean, Alexis, I don't want to be just your friend. Not even just tonight. Every day. Every minute. I mean, maybe you don't feel the same way I do, but I have to tell you. I can't stand the thought that you might find someone else and never know how I-' "

♥PG.346
" I ran back to Mom.
'I have a boyfriend,' I whispered to her.
She smiled. 'Watch, I'm not going to cry.' "

Book Review: The Outsiders by S.E Hinton

"Ponyboy is fourteen, tough and confused, yet sensitive beneath his bold front. Since his parent's deaths, his loyalties have been to his brothers and his gang, the rough, swinging, long-haired boys from the wrong side of the tracks. When his best friend kills a member of a rival gang, a nightmare of violence begins and a swiftly envelopes Ponyboy in a turbulent chain of events."

MY RATING : 10/10
This book tells a story that people rarely get to hear about. The gang from the inside... not from a spectator. Ponyboy seems way to young to be dealing with these things and yet kids all over the world are dealing with the same thing. The fact that at fourteen he smokes and carries a blade, just blew my mind. When i was fourteen I spent most of the time in the library curled up with a good book, or hanging out with family and friends. I feel terrrible that this violence occurs all the time and no one does anything about. It's time for change! We can help. I'm pretty sure anyways.
I like that hinto wrote this book when she was onl;y sixteen. It's amazing. I love it!
THANK YOU S.E HINTON FOR WRITING ABOUT THE "BAD" GUY!
Sincerely, Sidny

Spoiler: The Outsiders S.E Hinton

This book really took me by surprise. I thought since it was so short that it really wouldn't hit the points I wanted and that I wouldn't enjoy it. But I really did. I got into the characters minds and into their situation. It's terrible to know that kids all over the world feel the need to join a gang to gain a family. I'm sure everyone has their different reasons but it makes my heart sink.
Ponyboy: he is still a kid and I don't think he honestly understands the world at all. I understand why he is in to gang life though. He wants to have a big family and since his brothers are also in it they could get him in no problem. I like Ponyboy he is the best character to tell this story from.
Johnny: I hate that he died! But I'm happy he died a hero for saving those kids. I know that he shouldn't have killed Bob and I don't think he meant to. do you? he just seemed like he was tired of being the underdog.
Dally: I think he wasn't as tough as everyone thought he was. I think he really cared about Johnny otherwise he wouldn't have pulled that gun and gotten shot. he wanted that. it was no mistake. I also believe that he wasn't as brave as the front he puts on. he only does it so he won't get hurt.
Darry: Although Ponyboy can't see it, Darry loves him more than he'll ever know
Sodapop: I Love His Name! He is amazing with the gang and good basically with everyone. I feel bad about the girl who dumped him. I wouldn't have though.. :D
Two-Bit: Every group needs the guy who can make people laugh. Am I right?
Cherry: She seems like a nice girl.
All and all I love this book and I think it teaches us not to judge a book by it's cover... or it's hair.
FAVOURITE LINES/ MOMENTS:
♥Pg. 11
"Darry looked as if he'd like to knock our heads together 'You're both nuts.'
Soda merely cocked one eyebrow, a trick he'd picked up from Two-Bit. 'It seems to run in this family.' "

♥Pg. 12
"He and Soda worked at the same gas station- Steve part time and Soda full time- and their station got more customers than any other in town. Whether that was because Steve was so good with cars or because Soda attracted girls like honey draws flies, I couldn't tell you."

♥Pg.19
"I lie to myself all the time. But I never believe myself. "

♥Pg. 70
"I was dying for a Pepsi. I'm what you might call a Pepsi addict. I drink them like a fiend, and going for five days without one was about to kill me."

♥Pg. 100
" I heard our ford vvrrrooooom and thought Soda's driving."

♥Pg. 107
"Sixteen years on the street and you can learn a lot. But all the wrong things, not the things you want to learn. Sixteen years of the street and you see a lot. But all the wrong sights, not sights you want to see."

♥Pg. 115
" 'Soda,' I called from the bathroom, 'When did you start shaving?'
'When I was fifteen,' He yelled back.
'When did Darry?'
'When he was thirteen. Why? You figgerin' on growing a beard for the rumble?'
'You're funny. We ought to send you in to the Reader's Digest. I hear they pay a lot for funny things.' "

♥Pg. 119
" 'I am a greaser,' Sodapop chanted. 'I am a JD and a hood. I blacken the name of our fair city. I beat up people. I rob gas stations. I am a menace to society. Man, do I have fun!'
'Greaser... greaser... greaser...' Steve singsonged. 'O victim of environment, underprivileged, rotten, no-count hood!'
'Juvenile delinquent, you're no good!' Darry shouted.
'Get the hence, white trash,' Two-Bit said in a snobbish voice. 'I am a Soc. I am the privileged and the well-dressed. I throw beer blasts. Drive fancy cars, break windows at fancy parties.'
'And what do you do for fun?' I inquired in a serious, awed voice.
'I jump greasers!' Two-Bit screamed, and did a cartwheel. "

Hope you enjoyed this wonderful book!
Sincerely, Sidny
